Touch Screen Monitor Touch Screen Monitor is a computer display screen, sensitive to human touch. The Touch Screen Monitor allows a user to interact with the computer by touching pictures or words on the screen. They are widely used with information kiosks and computer-based training devices. These Touch Screen Monitors are designed to help individuals, who have difficulty in handling a computer mouse or a key board. The technology of Touch Screen Monitor can be used as an alternative to user interface, with applications that would normally require a mouse, such as a Web browser. Some of the applications created today, are designed specifically for Touch Screen Monitor technology. These new Touch Screen Monitors often have applications, with larger icons and links, than the typical PC application. Touch Screen Monitors are available with the built-in touch screen technology.
The Touch Screen Monitor has a clear panel attached externally to it. The Touch Screen Monitor is plugged into a serial or Universal Serial Bus (USB) port, or a bus card installed inside the computer. The touch screen monitor is connected to the panel, which registers touch events and passes these signals to the controller. The controller then processes the signals and sends the data to the processor. The result is then displayed on the Touch Screen Monitor. The software driver in a Touch Screen Monitor translates touch events into mouse events. Software drivers for Touch Screen Monitor are available now, for both Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems. Internal Touch Screen Monitors are available in the market, but it will require a professional installation. Touch Screen Monitors are now used for many public services to help people, who have difficulty in manipulating the mouse.
